We are Pat and Ian McKinnon, owners of “Marlborough Classic Motoring”.  For some time we had been thinking of ways to combine the experience of classic two seater sports car touring with some of New Zealand’s finest scenery.

Marlborough, NZ: the classic region for classic motoring.

Several holidays in the South Island of New Zealand convinced us that the South Island was the spectacular scenic area we were looking for to run such an operation.

In particular the Marlborough area at the top of the South Island which not only had the scenery, uncrowded roads, and a sunny climate, but also world renowned vineyards, a great selection of fine restaurants, and many other activities and attractions besides.

The next challenge for us was selecting suitable classic two seater sports cars. We had owned several of these original classic cars over the years and not only understood how eyecatching the classic styles of these cars were but also understood the great experience this type of “hood down, sunshine and wind in your hair” motoring offered.

Classic style cars like this look great but unfortunately they are now getting on in years – in fact the original cars we had in mind would now be well over fifty years old.

We wanted the “look” and the “experience” but with modern day reliability and performance.

The result was “Marlborough Classic Motoring” which hires out replica classic style two seater sports cars with styling from either the 1930’s, 40’s or 50’s. Being replicas these cars have the classic eyecatching looks we wanted everyone to enjoy, but with modern reliability and performance.
