Lake Rotoiti Day Tour (day tour)

Collect your car in the morning from our base in Koromiko and take a leisurely drive along the Wairau Valley, stopping at various vantage points along the way to view the broad braided Wairau River before heading up to Lake Rotoiti in the Nelson Lakes National Park.

Here, beside the magnificent lakeside scenery, you can enjoy the delicious contents of your traditional picnic hamper. After lunch stroll along the tracks beside the lake before driving back along the Wairau Valley to Koromiko.

Nelson Lakes Weekender
(2 nights accommodation)

Spend the first night at Koromiko Homestead where you will pick up your chosen car. After a delicious continental or cooked breakfast, set off in the morning on the magnificent drive to Lake Rotoiti.

Taking the road to St Arnaud along the Wairau Valley you will experience a delightful un-crowded road through vineyards and open countryside with the scenic Mount Richmond forest park on your right. After approximately 1.5 hours drive you will arrive at the alpine village of St Arnaud. After booking in at the “Alpine Lodge” for your second night’s stay, we suggest you drive the short distance to Lake Rotoiti where you can enjoy your traditional picnic luncheon by the shores of the lake.

In the afternoon you may like to visit the most informative Visitor Centre, run by the Department of Conservation, before perhaps taking one of the well sign posted walks in the vicinity. The scenery here is magnificent, and there are a variety of tracks suitable for all levels of fitness, including walks through native honeydew beech forest or longer alpine hikes.

The next day sees you taking a leisurely drive back down the Wairau Valley, pausing to enjoy a delicious lunch in the Restaurant at Highfield Estate before returning to Koromiko. Having had the hood down and the sun out and the wind in your hair, it will have been a great classic experience!

Weekend Away From Wellington
(2 nights accommodation)

Fly Sounds Air from Wellington to Picton on Friday afternoon. You will be collected by limousine from Picton airport and taken to your accommodation for the weekend at Koromiko Homestead set in extensive gardens in the Koromiko valley.

In the morning, after a delicious continental or cooked breakfast, blow the cobwebs away with a leisurely drive along the Wairau Valley in your chosen classic sports car and head up into the Nelson Lakes National Park.

Here, beside the magnificent lakeside scenery at Lake Rotoiti, you can relax and enjoy the delicious contents of your traditional luncheon picnic hamper. After lunch stroll along the tracks beside the lake before driving back along the Wairau Valley to Koromiko.

The next day enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then either relax in your accommodation, enjoy a coffee on the waterfront in Picton, or visit the Sunday Marlborough Farmer’s Market in Blenheim, before driving your chosen classic style car through the vineyards to Highfield Estate for lunch.

Return your classic style sports car to Koromiko Homestead in time for a short transfer by limousine to Picton airport for your flight back to Wellington.
